This is a fairly small Spanish campsite set in a lovely position on the Galician coast on the north western coast of Spain in an area of that is renowned for its seafood cuisine. The site is adjacent to a rocky beach but there are sandy coves and beautiful sandy beaches to explore nearby. The site is fairly small with 125 camping pitches and 16 chalets and it is near the small but pretty fishing town of O Grove with its whitewashed houses and lovely beaches.
The adjacent beach is great for sunbathing and watersports (you can hire your equipment on site). Next to the site is an aquarium, built into the rocks. Campsite facilities include a cafeteria, bar/restaurant and small supermarket (open mid June-mid Sept). For children, there is a playpark and there is also cycle hire.
The campsite is a six or seven hour drive from the Santander and Bilbao ferry ports. (Please check this yourselves to confirm timings !)

Things to Do in the Area
Santiago de Compostela
The campsite is not far from the famous pilgrimage destination of Santiago de Compostela. (Santiago is Spanish for St James!)
This is still famous as a religious centre but is now also a fabulous tourism destination with culture, nightlife, bars and cafes and various entertainment events throughout the summer months !
From Vigo, you can take the ferry to the islands "Islas Cíes" (see photograph at the top of this page), which are part of the Islas Atlánticas de Galicia National Park. The islands are in the mouth of the Ría de Vigo, some 14km from the city of Vigo. They can only be reached by ferry, and for much of the year are left to wildlife, but during the summer months visitors can visit the idyllic beaches. Please note that dogs or pets are not allowed to visit this nature reserve. It is in fact also possible to camp on these islands !
Disclaimer: The reviews published on the site are intended solely for the purpose of providing general information and comment and are purely our opinions. We cannot guarantee that descriptions on this site are accurate, up to date or free from error. We have found that the campsites described are very good and are some of the top campsites in France but we find that it is difficult to find a campsite which has 100% of what you are looking for. Also one person may love a busy campsite with lots of activities while someone else may love a quiet campsite with a small swimming pool. Actually we tend to be the latter ! So what we have done is highlight the good points of the sites and maybe point out a few of what we have found as slightly negative points. However we strongly recommend that you make full use of as many internet sources as possible before deciding about your holiday, including such things as Google maps.
